Itinerary, Song Lyrics, and other important stuff for the Codepink Bus Trip to DC this Weekend!
The time is here~ A Peace Convoy will be making its last stop in Missouri on Thursday, Jan 25th from North UMSL Parking Lot E (north) at 10:30PM to midnight, so if you would like to join a small group of people for the send off, that would be great!!! There will be some informal speakers, and other informal and fun activities that we could use some help with too. Also here, you can learn about the "Family Picture" that will be taking place simultaneously in St.Louis with the folks in DC; and your Missouri Message with Picture will be "hand delivered" to the newly elected reresentatives. (more info on www.INSTEADofWAR.org). Hopefully some of you will PINKIFY the picture!!
Please sing us a song and send us some good energies, we'll be sending some back to you!!
These Boots Are Made For Walk’in (adapted by CODEPINK-Lori Allen (Owner of "Just Cause" Sustainable Clothing store-above Minions Cafe)
"These Boots are made for Walkin and that’s just what they’ll do, one of these days these boots are gonna walk out on you! (visual in DC with soldiers with PINK boots)"
Dressed in Pink (From CODEPINK-Davis, CA) Copyright 2003 Alison Kent
I sing in the kitchen
I sing in the fields
I sing to my babies
You want as your shields
Ref: I sing in a woman voice
I sing by the sink
I sing claiming power, now,
I sing dressed in pink
I sing in the valleys
I sing in the hills
I sing in my earth-house
Where the fire heals the chill
I sing of the ocean
I sing of the stars
I sing of my womanblood
Not of blood spilled by Mars
I sing while I'm darning
I sing as I write
I sing all the woman-songs
You disdain and despite
The voices grow louder now
We've all left our sinks
We're marching on Washington
And we're all dressed in pink
