Re: Suppan, Pitch a Good Game and Then Go to Hell

If the Democratic Party can take control of the Senate, as flawed as they are; they can hold hearings and investigations into the various scandals and misconduct of the Bush Administration and put a stop to some of his abuses of power and that is what this election is about

"scandals and misconduct"? oh, is that all it is… ;)

who here still honestly believes that the democrats would hold meaningful hearings and investigations into the actual crimes of administration? why, they'd be implicating themselves, for starters. pelosi has already made it clear in public stmts that she doesn't want to pursue anything along this line. conyers has backed off on his earlier talk of making moves toward impeaching the president after the dems take power. even if they do win a majority in the nov elections - which is doubtful, given the reality of the completely corrupt voting system this country has been sold, and the blatant, official boasting from bush & cheney of already knowing the outcome - what historical references are we drawing from that would indicate the dems have much interest in investigating and then prosecuting these criminals?
